General Liability Agreement
By booking an apoointment with The Body Mech, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Consent to Treatment
I voluntarily give my consent to receive Sports Massage Therapy provided by Irshaad, the therapist at The Body Mech.
2. Understanding the Nature of Sports Massage
I understand that Sports Massage Therapy is a non-medical treatment designed to support recovery, improve mobility, and relieve muscle tension. It is not a substitute for medical care, diagnosis, or prescribed medications.
3. Non-Diagnosis Policy
I understand that Irshaad, as a Sports Massage Therapist, does not diagnose medical conditions, illnesses, or injuries, nor does he prescribe medications or medical treatments.
4. Medical Clearance
If I have any medical conditions or concerns, I confirm that I have obtained clearance from a licensed physician before booking my session.
5. Disclosure of Medical History
I understand the importance of disclosing all relevant medical conditions, injuries, or medications that may affect the safety and effectiveness of the treatment. Failure to disclose such information may increase risks during the session.
6. Awareness of Specialized Techniques
I understand that my session may include a variety of techniques such as cupping therapy (wet or dry), instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM/rockblading), spinal manipulations, PNF stretching, and percussion therapy. I acknowledge the following:
- Cupping therapy: May result in temporary skin discoloration (marks or bruising), soreness, or sensitivity. These marks typically fade within a few days to a week.
- IASTM (rockblading): May cause mild bruising, redness, or soreness in the treated areas as part of the healing process.
- Spinal manipulations: I understand that spinal adjustments involve controlled force applied to the joints, and I have disclosed any relevant medical history that could affect the safety of this technique.
- PNF stretching: This technique involves assisted stretching and muscle contraction, and I will communicate any discomfort during the session.
- Percussion therapy: I understand that devices like massage guns may be used to deliver deep tissue stimulation, which can cause mild soreness.
I consent to the use of these techniques as part of my personalized treatment plan and understand that their inclusion is based on my individual needs.
7. Responsibility to Communicate Discomfort
I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to inform Irshaad immediately during the session if I experience any pain, discomfort, or concerns, so the treatment can be adjusted accordingly.
8. Release of Liability
I release The Body Mech and Irshaad from any liability for injuries or adverse effects that may result from the session, except in cases of proven negligence.
9. Post-Treatment Care and Expectations
I understand that post-treatment reactions such as mild soreness, fatigue, or temporary discomfort are normal. I will follow the aftercare advice provided, which may include staying hydrated, gentle movement, or avoiding intense exercise following the session. If I experience any prolonged or concerning symptoms, I will consult a medical professional.
10. Cancellation and Late Arrival Policy
- Cancellations: To receive a deposit refund, cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment.
- Late Arrivals: If I am more than 30 minutes late without prior notice, the session will be considered canceled, and payment will be non-refundable.
- We understand that unexpected situations like traffic delays may occur, and we will do our best to accommodate such circumstances if contacted in advance.
11. Inappropriate Behavior Policy
Any form of inappropriate behavior, including but not limited to sexual comments, jokes, gestures, or requests, will result in the immediate termination of the session. Such behavior will also lead to permanent exclusion from future services at The Body Mech.
12. CCTV Recording for Safety
For the protection of both clients and Irshaad, CCTV cameras may be operational in the treatment area. Recordings are stored securely and automatically deleted within 48 hours unless retained to address a specific incident.
13. Client Responsibility for Honesty and Participation
I understand that the success of my treatment depends on honest communication regarding my health, symptoms, and lifestyle. I commit to participating fully by:
- Informing Irshaad of any changes in my condition before the session.
- Following any recommended exercises or aftercare.
- Asking questions if I need clarification about the techniques being used.
